Schools are continuing to announce closures for Friday, Jan. 24.
- Baldwin County Public Schools – Closed through Friday. “We will open for school on Monday, January 27th, with our regular schedule,” a BCPS spokesperson said.
- Bayshore Christian- Closed through Friday.
- Bishop State Community College (all campuses): Closed Wednesday.
- Catholic Schools in Baldwin and Mobile counties – Closed Wednesday through Friday. “Administrative and maintenance staff are to report to their respective schools on Friday when safe to do so,” a spokesperson said.
- Central Christian School in Baldwin County: closed through Friday.
- Chickasaw City Schools – Closed Wednesday.
- Clarke County School District – Closed Wednesday.
- Coastal Alabama Community College – Closed Friday.
- Conecuh County schools – closed through Thursday, Jan. 23.
- Cottage Hill Christian Academy – closed through Friday.
- Escambia County, Ala. Schools – Closed through Friday.
- Escambia County, Fla. Public Schools – Closed through Friday. “We expect to resume normal district operations on Monday, January 27,” stated Superintendent Keith Leonard. “Of course, we’ll continue to work closely with local emergency operations officials to determine what is safest for our families and staff.”
- Faith Christian Academy – Closed Wednesday.
- Floretta P. Carson Visual and Performing Arts Academy – closed through Friday.
- George County School District – Closed Friday. School officials said all schools will reopen on Monday.
- Government Street Christian School and Child Development Center- closed through Friday.
- Greene County School District – Closed through Friday with plans to reopen Monday, Jan. 27.
- Gulf Shores City Schools – Closed Wednesday.
- Mobile County Public Schools – Closed through Friday. “We will have essential personnel on campuses Friday, if possible, to ensure facilities are acceptable for the return of students, faculty and staff on Monday,” a spokesperson said.
- Monroe County Public Schools – Closed Wednesday.
- Okaloosa County School District – Closed through Friday. Will resume classes Monday, Jan. 27.
- Orange Beach City Schools – Schools will be closed through Friday. “We will resume our regular in-person schedule on Monday, January 27, 2025,” a spokesperson said.
- Prichard Prep – Closed Wednesday.
- Santa Rosa County Schools – Closed Wednesday.
- Shelton Academy – Closed through Friday.
- Spring Hill College – closed Wednesday.
- We strongly encourage everyone to avoid traveling in these conditions. However, the main gate on Old Shell Rd. will remain open for emergency access.
- St. James Episcopal School in Fairhope – Closed Wednesday.
- St. Luke Episcopal School – Closed through Friday.
- Troy University -Closed Wednesday.
- UMS-Wright Preparatory School – Closed Friday.
- University of Mobile: closed Wednesday. Ingram Dining Hall will remain open for campus residents. Students should monitor their UM email and official UM social media for the latest updates. “Due to ongoing weather and road conditions, the University of Mobile will transition to remote operations on Thursday, Jan. 23. All classes will be held online and employees who can do so will work remotely. Ingram Dining Hall will remain open for campus residents. Campus classes and normal operations are scheduled to resume on Monday, Jan. 27.”
- University of South Alabama – Closed Friday.
The Dining Hall is open from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, but all other campus dining options are closed.
The Jag Mart – located in Azalea Hall – has grab-and-go meals, snacks and drinks for students living on campus. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Recreation Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, but all rec center classes are cancelled.
USA Health is providing updates separately regarding operating hours for clinics, but all hospitals and the Freestanding Emergency Room remain open. - Washington County Public Schools – Closed Wednesday.
