Ruben Studdard has returned with his new album, The Way I Remember It, the first album of original material in almost ten years.
The 10-track album includes the title track single, released in May, as well as previously released tracks “W.I.F.E.” and “Masterpiece.”
“It’s just the kind of Luther-style ballad folks have been waiting for from me,” Studdard said at the time of the single’s release.
Through the new album, Studdard hopes fans “know that I hear them and that I’m definitely not going to take as long in between releasing albums again.”
He adds, “I just wanted people to have a record that felt good. A great mix of old and new school R&B.”
The Way I Remember It is the first album of original songs since the release of Unconditional Love in 2014. Since then, Studdard released Ruben Sings Luther Vandross, a tribute album.
