Unauthorized “excessive alterations” to an Airbnb property have led the owner to sue Tyrese.
In court records acquired by The Blast on Wednesday (November 15), Tiffanique Webb, who filed the lawsuit in the Superior Court of California, claims Tyrese’s changes caused losses that exceeded his rental property security deposit.
Webb is also suing Tyrese for lost profits since her property is unrentable after the changes.
The California Department of Consumer Affairs requires landlord clearance for renovations over $500. Tyrese allegedly failed to deliver the proposed modifications in writing, signed by both parties, that were “legible, easy to understand, and inform the consumer of his/her rights to cancel or rescind the contract.” Webb wants more than $25,000 in damages.
