The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and more than 40 AHF country teams will hold commemorative events on World AIDS Day to honor those who have died from AIDS, support those who continue the fight, and unite people worldwide in fighting one of the deadliest infectious diseases.
AHF will stage its annual World AIDS Day music and awareness event in the U.S. Janet Jackson will perform a complete set at NRG Arena in Houston, TX, and AHF will present Blair Underwood with its Lifetime Achievement Award for his three decades of leadership in the HIV/AIDS fight in the U.S. and overseas.
AHF mobilizers will hold 26 HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention events in 21 cities nationwide, promoting testing, education, and open discussion.
Condoms are the most cost-effective way to prevent HIV, other sexually transmitted illnesses, and unwanted pregnancies; hence, AHF urges governments to provide them and promote their usage.
