The “Sing Your Song! As We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart” tour by Stevie Wonder will promote “joy over anger” this fall.
The 10-show run starts October 8 in Pittsburgh and goes on until October 30 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This tour comes at a vital time in American politics, and Wonder hopes to inspire togetherness and healing.
Wonder, a 25-time Grammy winner, will give free tickets to community activists who are healing “our nation’s broken heart.”
The gesture fits Wonder’s longstanding social justice and humanitarian work. In his latest album, Wonder sings, “Can We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart?” about the country’s problems. The song’s lyrics, “Children marching on the boulevard / Tears are streaming down their face,” capture the nation’s stress and optimism for change.
AEG Presents and Free Lunch are promoting the Wonder Productions-led tour, which will stop in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Greensboro, Atlanta, Detroit, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis.
Tour tickets go on sale Friday, September 20, at noon local time at StevieWonderLive.com.
