Recently, Mary J. Blige discussed her journey with love on Fat Joe’s show and opened up about the heartbreak she experienced in her life.

Mary said, “Absolutely. I would say, all the hell that I’ve been through in my life. It was not for no reason. It was not for just me to sit there and be like, ‘Oh, I’m f**ked up.'”

She continued, “It was for me to use it as something to help other people heal. So if I’m going through everything I’m going through, it’s damn near killing me. It’s killing me to sing these songs.”

She added, “This is when I was feeling like this. But for whatever reason, God is using it to heal somebody in the audience, to heal this woman at home, to get somebody out of a bad marriage, to send somebody to college, help somebody be in a relationship for a long full long time. So of course I know exactly what my job is on this earth and what my assignment is on this earth.”
