Universal Music Group has just announced their partnership with the Music Health Alliance to launch a Music Industry Mental Health Fund. The new initiative will help provide mental health services to current and former music professionals, and serves as a response to recent industry discourse advocating for artists’ mental well-being. UMG’s fund will offer referrals, financial assistance, and a continuum of care, building on previous healthcare access initiatives by the organizations. “Growing and continuing our partnership with the Music Health Alliance was the most natural way to ensure continuous and effective mental health support for anyone working in our industry,” UMG’s Chief Impact Officer Susan Mazo shared in a statement. The announcement comes days after Sabrina Carpenter, Noah Kahan, Charli XCX and others donated to Chappell Roan’s We Got You campaign, showing an industry-wide effort to support mental health and wellness resources following Roan’s impassioned speech at the Grammys on February 2.
